Obituary for Carol Ann Bailey

Carol Ann Bailey passed away due to illness, on January 18, 2019.
Carol was born in Boise, ID on November 20, 1938, to Kenneth and Phylis Leger.
The family later moved to Pocatello where Carol would spend the rest of her life. She was blessed with three siblings, Joyce, Kathy and Steve, whom she loved dearly. Sadly, her sweet sister Joyce died when Carol was nine years old. This loss was profound and formed who Carol would grow to be. Otherwise, childhood was an adventure. Most notably was her tomboy/girly nature; climbing white picket fences in perfectly ironed dresses and always in trouble for the tears in those perfect dresses. As she grew Carol enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She talked of the competitions on stage at the Chief Theatre.
In high school, Carol met the love of her life, Gene Bailey. They married in 1955, her senior year, before Gene left for the service. She wrote a letter each day to remind him of her love. After graduation, Carol joined Gene in Williamsburg, VA. There she worked for a historical foundation. She loved the history, the buildings and the beauty. Carol and Gene returned home to Pocatello after his service. They began a family in 1958 with the births of Lori, Lesli, and Scott.
Carol worked hard. She valued taking good care of her children always striving to give them the best. As part of that, Carol worked full time. Many jobs involved the medical field; St. Anthony Hospital and doctor offices. Her favorite time was spent working at the Cinnamon Tree gift shop and arranging flowers for The Arrangement. Her talent as a designer was incredible. She loved design display at the gift shop and thrilling people with her special floral displays. After retirement, Carol never stopped pleasing others with her talents. She also found utter joy spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren, Brayden and Bailey, who helped keep her young.
Throughout Carol's life she enjoyed singing with the first Camarata Singers and the Presbyterian Choir, skiing and fishing with Gene and family, and decorating a beautiful home. She was also a member of PEO.
Carol is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gene Bailey, parents Kenneth and Phylis Leger, sister Joyce, and grandson Jacob Johnson.
Surviving Carol are her children Lori Bailey, Lesli Osorio, and Scott Bailey; siblings: Kathy (Rick) Harris and Steve Leger (Zann Liljegren); grandchildren: Andrew (Julie) Johnson, Dustin Bailey, Jordan Wells, Tearra Larsen (Bryce Slorea), Stephanie Bezer, Catherine (Jovan) Rodriquez ,and all of her wonderful great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the many special caregivers from Heritage Home Health and Quail Ridge Assisted Living.
